The Carnot Network

The Most Powerful Research Offering for Business Innovation

The 39 Carnot institutes are public research structures, labeled by the Ministry of Research, that make strong commitments to conduct and develop collaborative research activities benefiting the innovation of companies - from SMEs to large groups - and socio-economic actors.

The 35,000 research professionals in the Carnot institutes, representing 20% of public research human resources, conduct 55% of the R&D contracts outsourced by companies to public research.

To increase the economic impact of R&D actions carried out by Carnot laboratories in partnership with companies in terms of job creation, national and export sales, and competitiveness.

Carnot institutes offer a broad spectrum of skills to meet the R&I needs of companies in all economic sectors. To leverage their complementarities and synergies for the benefit of their economic partners, they are organized into an operational network led by AiCarnot.

Carnot institutes rely on a continuous improvement approach to the professionalism of their partnership relationships, from the first contact to the delivery of deliverables and the collection of satisfaction feedback, through negotiation and project setup phases.
